Hi Stu,
Thanks for your input. The medal is an 1880 Kabul to Kandahar Star to the 72nd Highlanders. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission was set up in 1917 so I think this is outwith their remit. The biggest problem is that a lot of records at the National Archives were destroyed and to my knowledge approx 70% were lost in a fire so sometimes there is just a brick wall.
