Default New Hebrides club.

A new piece making its way to me. 90 cm long, the example in the illustration no5 being 96cm northern Malo Island from "Ethnology Of Vanuatu, An early twentieth century study. 1910-1912 Felix Speicer. Hawaii University Press.1996. It is all about how these things feel in the hand. Weight, balance and patina that is what makes an old bit of wood into a very nice antique weapon. So I cannot wait until it arrives.

CONGRATULATIONS IT LOOKS LIKE A DANDY I LOOK FORWARD TO LEARNING MORE ABOUT IT WHEN YOU HAVE IT IN HAND. IT IS SIMILAR IN FORM TO THE FIJI TAVO CLUBS, SEE PAGE 4 FIJI CLUBS FOR SOME EXAMPLES OF THE FIJIAN CLUBS. THE BUTT END IS DIFFERENT AND THE BLADE APPEARS THINNER ON YOUR CLUB.

Not the most dramatic of forms but not as common as others. Makes a very nice aged and lovely patina quartet.

Lovely wood Tim, and unusual clubs as well. Thanks for sharing these.
