Carlos,

A Timor sword indeed. This sword is called Rugi Glamang. North Sulawesi, Alor.

Nice one.

A VERY NICE AND ATTRACTIVE EXAMPLE, CAN'T ADD MUCH EXCEPT THAT THE POMMEL IS SAID TO REPRESENT A HORSE HEAD ,TRUE OR NOT CONGRADULATIONS ON A NICE SWORD

Congrats, Carlos!

Yes, indeed a Rugi from Alor. I'm not sure where the reference to North Sulawesi is coming from, Albert?

The carving and rattan work looks genuine - maybe early 20th century or turn of century? Could you please provide a pic of the face of the bells?

Do you plan to clean the blade, Carlos?

Regards,
Kai

Hello Carlos,

Please post some better pics of your sword!

Hilt made from wood with iron ferrule?

There seems to some relationship with the 2 unusual examples discussed in this thread: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=13524

Regards,
Kai

Hello kai
I saw the other post but unfortunatelly I sold the sword and I haven, t it.
Sorry
carlos

I remember that hilt was made of wood and blade was very thin and flimsy, maybe not for use.
I bought in Ebay to a indonesian seller
