Default Nice Talibon

This has the best carving of all the talibons that I have. As to its age I'm going to say it is probably WWII or later but that is just a guess seeing that I really have no idea. Ferrell is a silver or nickel alloy. The string at the top of the scabbard was added by me to hold it together until I replace the broken wire. All comments are wellcome.

Blade length is 15-1/8 inches
Blade width at widest point is 1-1/2 inches
Blade thickness at thickest point is 7/32 inch

Thumbs up

IT DOES LOOK LIKE A WELL CARVED EXAMPLE (KIND OF HARD TO SEE AS PHOTOS ARE VERY DARK)THE METAL FERRULE IS NOT NORMALY WHAT YOU SEE ON TALBION BUT WOULD MAKE IT STURDY AND LESS LIKELY TO SPLIT THE HANDLE. IT IS INTERSTING ALSO THAT THE FERRULE LOOKS VERY WELL MADE NOT JUST SOMETHING SIMPLY MADE. JUDGEING FROM THE CARVING BEING ON ONE SIDE OF THE HANDLE AS WELL AS SHEITH THIS ONE WOULD BE FOR SOMEONE WHO IS RIGHT HANDED. YOU ARE PROBABLY RIGHT AS TO ITS AGE WW2 OR LATER EITHER MADE FANCY FOR A LOCAL OR FOR A MORE EASY SALE TO A FORIGNER.

I have seen metal ferrules on WWII talibons. Very crisp carvings.
