Default Matchlocks used in Hunting

Around the 1500 to 1600's were Matchlocks used for hunting not just war. I have looked for paintings etc. with out much luck. Is any one able to point me in the right direction?

Any help would be greatly received.

Owen.

Hi Owen,

Here is a famos illustration by Stradanus, ca. 1570, depicting hunters with their hounds and equipped with North Italian matchlock muskets with painted stocks and matching powder and priming flasks.

Have fun,
Michael
