Unusual Kris -- Visayan?
I really need to stain the blade. Has nice patterns.

Hello Bill,
Yes, staining, staining, staining! I still have my reservations to call these assimilated pieces from non-Moro sources kris... How long is the blade? It would be nice to verify wether the blade was forged in the Visayas or wether a captured/traded Moro blade got recycled - maybe the laminations could help short of examining the tang and base of blade? Hi Kai,
The blade is 22 inches long. I still don't like pulling these pieces apart to view tangs. Let me get out my vinegar and work on this and the Ox-Tail. Also have a really interesting horn jungayyan twistcore kris that badly needs a stain. And some pictures! |
