commando dagger ?
Hello everybody,
does someone know the origin / age of this kind of dagger ? The seller told me it was perhaps english or american, period 1950 ?!... Thank you for any information. Frankie |

doesn't look 'issue' at all. it'd have stamps if it were. as suggested elsewhere it's likely a custom job or DIY. might not be a bad knife, except for that guard. running around in the real world of a commando, you'd have a good chance of landing on it & ruining your day. i can't see any practical use for that, looks awkwardly placed to use as a striking point. if you get close enough, a nice draw cut would work better. might be there to look 'cool'. from the alignment of the blade/guard to the grip & the apparent peened bit on the pommel end, it doesn't look like the tang is particularly strong either...
