I dunno, at least the way Ive used blade length in my own estimation of ages, has been as a part in many other factors. Eg. long blade, aluminum fittings, center ridge scabbard, full rattan wrap, triangular crest, etc... then maybe post WWII. Larger blades definitely seem to have become more common over time (even just studying pieces made post 1900 we can see this), but of course that doesnt mean large blades did not exist in the past.
