I had a wonderful soussan pata from Rsword, but then sold it to Charles to get my wonderfully rare ivory kampilan. I too am in the market for a good soussan pata.......(and a Balkan yataghan in silver and coral, a silver or ivory junggayan kris, etc.....)

Keep your eyes on Swap for a 16.5" bladed Barung .

Any day now .....

Wish lists.

When I started to collect keris I had a very simple wish list:- I wanted every keris that I could find.

All of them.

By my early thirties I had over 3000 keris.

These days I want knowledge more than I want keris.

Wink

Well said Alan,
The mind holds a hell of a lot more than any collection ever can .

Still, we all suffer from the desire to posses the tangible .

My Wish List
....to acquire any old, used weapon that had meaning to it's original owner irrespective of the weapon's monetary value or status Something that when I hold it in my hands .....I can 'feel' its history...and have the privilege of cherishing it like the original owner once did.

Swords I would like in that category would be a 1796 Pattern Sabre, A wootz bladed Shamshir, a Moro Kris , a 18th Century Katana , an Ancient Egyptian Kopesh and a genuine, pattern welded Viking Sword......some are well out of my financial league .....but, for any generous souls.... it's my birthday in 7 months time

Regards David

That exactly describes my early dha-collecting strategy.
