While these are obviously modern tourist souveniers, the manufacturers actually have some apparant degree of actual Tuareg weapons and old sword blades as they have applied loosely versions of markings. Interesting to see that particular detail.

Hi Jim,
yes, the main reason I posted these is to show the stamps, it seems that a number of Takouba's recently sold on eBay displayed identical marks...although not so many. These Takouba's were described as late 19th C and the winners paid good money for what ,I am certain, were probably late 90's.......1990 that is. I hope that none of the forum members were the buyers.... and hopefully if any more 'hit' the market others will be forewarned.
