Default the bottom line...

...is that dealers are in business, for the most part, to sell their merchandise for what the market will bear. They are not in the business of educating the public. Too many times I've had dealers say to me, only half jokingly, "you guys know too much, you're always picking things apart. It's easier for us to sell to the fellows who don't know anything!" By "you guys" it's meant us geeks who post on forums, frequent the Timonium seminars, build study collections, or who have/are planning to publish academically.
