Default Nice garab!

Hi Xas,

Just out of curiosity, is the hilt meant to resemble a water buffalo, or is that just coincidental?

Halloo! There are several theories about the imagery, but I'm currently researching a personal theory- I believe it mirrors a certain symbol in Philippine Folk Christianity.

This is one of the main theories. The garab hilt resembles the "Minandawe" hilt of Cebu pinuti. Minandawe is an obscure vine fern documented by the Spanish.
