Moro punal bronze guard?

Hi Jeff,

I like this knife for a few reasons. The 9-luk bladed looks well made. The waves are forged (not created by stock removal) and there is a well defined central ridge. The waves taper in width from guard to tip. The panday knew what he was doing.

The integrated guard/ferrule is unusual. The casting has some imperfections and I think it started as two separate pieces that were brazed together (rather than created in toto). Whether this metal is brass or bronze is hard to say without testing. Perhaps we could simply call it a copper alloy.

Hard to assess its age. My guess would be first half of the 20th C based on the blade.
