Might be aluminum fittings on the hilt and cross piece. The fittings on the sheath do not look like aluminum. But i agree with the mid-20th century dating.
A nice laminated blade with a strong center ridge.
I actually find the pommel knob very interesting. If it can be properly restored this will be a very attractive piece. It would be good if your restorer uses aged pieces of bone for the project.
Does anyone know what the green material is that is inlaid in the ferrule ring?
