Thank you very much, Vandoo. I appreciate your compliments. I was aiming for a general Scandinavian look, as you mention, a mixture of the traditional and modern. Hence the Finnish design, Norwegian Damascus, and Swedish Birch. My preference is to work with historical designs and update them, in order to make something that no one has before. There are folks out there that are interested in making precise replicas, and that's fine for them. My work tends to be uniquely my own.

No, as of yet, I haven't made a scabbard for it. I shall, likely, at some point. The Black Palm is purely natural, no dyeing or any other treatment was used on it. If you view the figure (grain pattern) lengthwise, it looks like a melange of tubes, but viewed on the end grain, it exhibits that very unique spotted structure that you see. Neat stuff.
