Question about halberd

Outstanding example, Jasper.
Interesting note on the different purpose of the side implements.
The closest i have been to these was in a halberd once shown by Matchlock, one in which their shape suggests the embellishment version.

They look like they have a rod/rivet down the centre, likely peened both sides. could they be for stacking multiple halberds in the field? Do they turn?
