I know we've already discussed Lafitte briefly, but few have heard of the nefarious Harpe brothers and their bloodthirsty exploits on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. Called the 'first serial killers in America' by some. It is hard to imagine their barbarity happening in such a pastoral setting...
