I would love to compare the real deal with the tourist items....
My problem is that I do not have any collector close to me who collect these kind of blades and could show me, so then it is more difficult to get any feeling of it so to speak...

When I begun to collect old so called "Wild West" guns many years ago I have several collectors around me and then I could have the real thing in my hand and learn to know what is original and what is messsed up with.... That together with a lot of books helped me a lot....

Well, up to now I haven´t bought any Islamic blade but I hope I will be able to do that soon and then it will hopefully not be a tourist item because I will ask first before buying....
