BOOK ON EUROPEAN MAKERS MARKS
I have just listed one of the most comprehensive books on European makers markings yet! Published in Sweden by the President of the Swedish Arms & Armour Society, this book is outstanding as it includes most of the marks from the other compendiums but with updated detail.
Many of the other references are hard to find these days, and this one is much more organized and outstanding illustrations of the marks. As per forum policy, more on obtaining the book as well as two other titles on Swedish edged weapons and furbishers in history there are noted as well. |

Salaams Jim, I see the book is outlined below;
Staffan Kinman Kinman, 2015 - Armorers' marks - 163 pages 1079 marks of European edged weapon makers (bladesmiths, furbishers, hiltmakers, brass moulders a.s.o.) are shown in the book, in the first part in alphabetical order of the makers. In the second part, the marks are assorted in groups out of the motifs to make the examination easier. Marks with shields with letters and initials are presented in alphabetical order. The author is president of the Swedish Arms and Armour Society since 2001 and also a research leader of the Society. His books 'Edged weapons in Sweden' was published in 2014. see https://www.google.com/search?q=Staf...a1lXNfpSNyWxM: Regards, Ibrahiim al Balooshi. |
