as far as the jinn, have you ever tried placing it under your pillow? might be interesting to hear what kind of dreams you'll have, that if you believe in that kind of stuff.
here's another kris that has a somewhat similar motif. notice that all the "dots" aren't totally enclosed by the asterisks, but instead, it's corralled by a couple lines that ends into a naga okir towards the tip.
