This is an easy one
 Austro-Hungarian Model 1869 cavalry trooper's sword & Kavalleriesäbel M 69.This sword was adopted for service in 1869 by the cavalry regiments of the Austro-Hungarian Army. A sword model that lasted until the first quarter 20th century, with its plastic hilt. |

Hi Fernando and multumesc,
This is not Austrian cavalry sabre model 1869. There is difference as far as the grip. handguard and scabbard are concerned. The blade is, of course, Austrian, also the handguard could be - maybe from the model 1877. The whole unit is strange due to Austrian blade used ... Regards, Martin |

A sword
We visited a military museum and saw several models of swords Austro-Hungarian and Romanian.Among them was my sword model.The sword is a 19th century model.I think it's kind of sword was commissioned by Romania to be imported from the Austro-Hungarian Empire.In these countries have entered WW1 conflicted in 1916 and trade has not occurred.Below are pictures of my sword and museum. What do you think?

Please, which site is this ????? Such weapon is not mentioned in my "Sabres of Habsburk Monarchy , 16th - 20th century" by Konopisky .......... (There are several variations of model 1989, but everything very different in comparision with your oiece). Thanks, Martin |

Did you mean 1989 or 1889??
The site is called "Imperial War Museums" or put directly http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/30003699 with copy paste. I think it is a rare model of the sword. I think this model was imported only by Romania until 1916.

I am enclosing basic characteristics of the Austro-Hungarian M69 (I am afraid they are wrong as far as the site is concerned an I will ask Prague army museum for standpoint). Regards, Martin |
