Default Native american knife

Hi!

Scabbard looks rather new, however it is made in exeptional quality, with lots of glass pearls and hermelin fur. The knife itself looks fairly old with pitting and it is verry sharp. There are no any markings.

Any comments?

It looks like a fairly standard hunting knife pattern .
Is it hand forged ?
It doesn't look so to me .
I would expect a little more patina on the antler for it to be turn of the century age .
Nicely made knife ; I like the pinned ferrule .

I would think this is fairly recent. The blade appears stained but no
significant rusting or pitting. Looks like a factory grind. Also most
native Am. knives I've seen didn't have a ferrule, but less one pinned
in place. Looks like maybe solder joint between ferrule and blade????
Patina on blade, antler and sheath all look recent IMHO. I'm thinking
maybe a re-enactors piece? Just a guess.

The beadwork on the scabbard was done on a small loom and the large beads look plastic, along with the new leather. I agree with the need for more patina on the stag horn and the patina on the blade. It is recently made and by someone who is using non-Native style. Made for the market.
