Thanks for the help so far, Fellas .
It's not my sword; I have never handled a Kilij before and this one seems very light . I'm wondering if this might be a souvenir from an earlier time .. It also has a pretty good lenghthwise bend in the blade . ![]() Not sure if the script is done in koftgari or what . Interesting story behind this one; it belonged to a Gentleman's Brother who used to make home movies as a kid . He now has 4 academy awards under his belt .

I dont think this is a touristy piece but the decoration is an imitation of Persian ones. I think this piece was likely made and used in Syria. Atleast the script was done there.

![]() No way this sword is from 1606 (didIgetthatright?) The current custodian of this sword is a charter boat captain from my town . Just trying to fill in some blank spaces for him . The handle is horn, the blade seems to be fairly springy, but kids at play can damage about anything . I think cleaning it would likely remove the decoration; it is quite rusty .
