Hi Purwa,

I think, Bali has own cultures and long histories. They have many own cultures like traditional dance, carving, Batik and the Keris, etc.
So, Bali has own Keris cultures before Singosari and Majapahit era (before 11-15th Century).
..........

Bali has relationship with many Kingdoms at Jawa. Just for example, at 10-12th Century, Bali has trading relationship with Singosari Kingdom. At 13-15th century with Majapahit. On Mataram Sultan Agung period (17th century), Bali has connections with Cakraningrat (Madura) Kingdom and Mataram Sultan Agung.
..........

On the way of histories, after Majapahit attackted by Demak Kingdom (about end of 15th century), many Majapahit people's went to Bali. So that Majapahit people's give many influences of Balinese cultures, also the keris. And sometimes we saw some Balinese keris which has Javanese characteristic (acculturations) like the iron, pamor or ricikan.

Rgds,
Mans.
