Help! I have a bad infection, again a kris!

It seems to be a lot of sword for the money! I've always wanted one of these. If I'd known they could be picked up so cheap now, I'd be bidding ......
Well, that is if eBay didn't block bids from the UK on such things now

Thank you! BTW, in Germany are all items blocked where is written down in description WWII.

I think you can bid by registering another account on US site but if not working you can use services like "hop shop go"

@ sajen: congrats! looks like a thick blade, I think it is going to have "sandwich pamor" like the other one.

Chandra, thank's! Yes, the blade seems to be thick and I hope that it will have a nice lamination.

Today I received the kris, with the kris I am very pleased but the sheath is in very poor condition like already to seen on the pictures from the seller. There is no mother of pearl but maybe have been there before?

Well looks like a true separable ganga - good for you!

On the scabbard, looks like it had horn.

Yes, separate gonjo. The back of the cross-piece of the sheath is covered with horn but in front the cutting lines of the piece of horn are very straight so it was my first guess that it was framed with an other material and this guess was MOP. But now I am very sure that it was aluminium since at some places it is still present. The up from the mouth for example is covered with this metal and also the nails whereby the horn is fixed to the wood are from Al. And I think that I have seen something similar before.

BTW, I have cleaned the handle and polished the blade and think that I will etch the blade tomorrow. Here a pic of the cleaned handle.

Nice. Yeah looking again at the front of the scabbard, I agree that it might have had MOP surrounding the little section of horn.
