Default interesting blog item on daggers

as I found an interesting knife case (see pcture) from Zaire, Kong-Portuguese, 16th-18th century, size: 11 x 25 cm, located at the Detroit Institute of Arts
I wanted to know more about the item and type of knives and thus stumbled upon this nice interesting blog on the history of daggers and specially Portugal.

And additional a few pics from a very beautiful Portugese knife located at the MET museum, dated 16th century,
Medium: Ivory, steel and dimensions: L. 11-1/2 in. (29.2 cm)
