CUP HILTED SWORD FOR SALE

For sale an excellent example of a cup hilted sword from around the 1700's. Noteworthy the x-large cup bowl with a 16 cms. (6,3") diameter, and with a 32 cms.(12,6") quillons span. The grip wrapped with copper wire, secured by four steel posts. The slightly hexagonal rapier blade, with a fairly long 98 cms. (38,6") length, 20 m/m width and 8,13 m/m thickness at the forte. Pommel peening visibly untouched, as per pictures. Unidentified makers mark in the ricasso. Inscriptions on the blade VIVA EL REY on one side and DE PORTVGAL on te other.
All parts firm and solid.
