Default good ? french mamluk style sword

Hello dear members,

I wanted to show you this french ? saber-sword,
The blade was trapped in the scabbard ( lot of rust...)
but I finally got it !

I don't think it's an old napoleonic mamluke style sword but not just a recent copy or a good quality one:

At first sight: fake shagreen covered scabbard and brass/bronze mounts that seems too well preserved make me think of a recent copy,
the chromed blade too seems weird...

On the other side, the chromed blade is thick but really flexible, seems made of good steel
and the hilt, has nice blond horn grips.
Too much for just a repro !?!
Or was it usual in the early 20th century to make good copy for orientalists fans ?
