Boarding Axes
Hi,
For anyone interested in this type of axe I have recently updated my website boardingaxe.com. On the Private Purchase Page, two additional axes have been added which include a French model 1833 which is marked with the manufacturers name Coulaux (from the Klingenthal arsenal). This is the first that I have seen stamped with that well known name. The other is a finely made British or US axe made by Wolff. I have also added more pictures on the French Page of the poorly recognised 1852 model which, due to its late introduction is the most commonly found model of the French regulation patterns, but is often misidentified as the 1833 with shortened spike. I am always looking to improve this knowledge base so if you have any information or pictures of boarding axes that would add to the database, please pm me or contact me through the site. Regards, David |
