So I did what I could during a 1 hour break, trying the methods in this forum.

First, scraped off the active rust.

Second, polished the blade and the hilt (turned out to be silver).

Third, etched the blade in warm vinegar for around 10 mins, then neutralized with baking soda slurry.

Fourth, wiped it all down.

Ps: I didn't touch the gangya area because I wasn't too sure about what I was doing. Anyway, here goes.
