Default Help with identification of this sword and translation

I found this sword but have no idea what it is and were it came from. The handle is ivory and the blade is inlaid and on the other side something is wriiten in a for me unknown language. It looks as an old sword to me. The quality of the pictures aren't very good but i hope they will do. If not I have to make new pics at daylight this weekend.

Please, any comments on its origin and maybe a translation?
