Default Shopping for Kukri in Katmandu

Hello gentlemen;

My mother, who is a traditional Turkish miniature painter, will be in Katmandu, Nepal to attend an art festival in the city in a couple of weeks.

This situation presents a unique opportunity for me to be able to get a nice, traditional, quality Kukri from its homeland. But as you can guess, my mom knows nothing about blades and has no idea what a kukri is, and how to be able to avoid tourist pieces. Even though I plan to give her a crash course on the subject, I, myself, only have supeficial knowledge about kukris, and adding the linguistic barrier and time limitations etc. it will be a challenge for her to buy a good one for a reasonable price.

So, I ask kukri experts in the forum to help me, point me to the right direction on where to find a good, traditional kukri(nothing fancy or highly priced) in Katmandu, and easiest ways to avoid tourist pieces.. Keep in mind these advices will be for a person who is a complete ignorant about any kind of blades. So, it would be ideal for me if you can point to a specific adress, shop, maker or brand; though any kind of help will be greatly appreciated.
