Hi Ariel,

Privately contacting any party to an eBay auction does not violate any forum rules. Personally, I don't do it, as the potential for legal trouble concerns me. If incorrect, you could be liable for things like defamation or "tortious interference with an advantageous business relationship".

In any event, you expose yourself to lawsuits. Even the frivolous type can be expensive to defend.
