Default Interesting Axes for ID

I know that some peeps only frequent either the Ethno or European forum, so I thought I'd ask here as well to catch the Euro' only members.

These have become a subject of some debate. If you haven't caught the discussion so far....
Plausible theories for their origins (so far):
Indian
Eastern European
Arabian

My feelings are that whatever their origin, they are clearly a distinct type and we should be able to identify them by other known examples.
I've been wrong so far!

Heres the other thread:
http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...t=13791&page=2

Dimensions of axes are:
The larger axe head is 13.5cm/10cm, Weighing (approx) 380g minus the shaft.
The smaller axe head is 10.5cm/9.25cm weighing about the same: 380g.
Shafts appear to be crude replacements.

Several forumites have put forward a solid case for the possibility of these being European, hopefully someone will recognise them.

Anyone seen this type before?

Best
Gene
