Thanks Sajen, usually Minangkabau's hilt motif would not be of a Dragon but sometihing like horse shoe (tapak kuda). Agree with you, maybe from Acheh. If some of our Malay friends could read the Jawi writing (Islamic script) on the scabbard would be useful.It would solve the problem. I could read only a little. The word Pedang (sword) has been mentioned.
