Recently i was able to acquire this Lee-Enfield combat knife. The mirror polished blade is 23 cm Long and very sharp.
It could be a shortened P 1907 bayonet but probably not as it shows no usual marks. It seems to be a profesional manufactory work. Also interesting this blade bears an unusual high number of proof-, inspection- and repair-marks. Up to the First World War it was normal for the British to stamp their blades excessively. But at least eight different marks is even for GB unusual. This knife was in field usage as it has a couple of nicks and other tiny damages. I hope, someone knows more about this knife, which immediately became one of my favorite ones in my collection. Best wishes and every comment is desired, Roland Last edited by Roland_M; 6th June 2018 at 07:21 AM. |
