For starters, what a lovely, elegant blade!

Lots of interesting things going on here. The curvature of the blade and its pattern welded or 'faux'(looks etched or engraved to me) pattern welded construction are just two.

The hilt looks eastern European or even is more Trabzon-ish to me. The bolster looks quite Afghan though.

I suggest there may be a possibility that this salawar yat may not be Afghan at all.

Just a thought based on the unique blade and hilt.

Fine, and fascinating piece, regardless!
