Default Please educate me on this Philippine Sword

Hello friends,
I love the style of this sword that recently closed on Ebay. But the hilt and scabbard looks new. I thought it might be a remounted old blade, but another forumite thought it was probably artificially aged. Looking at the price that this piece went for, what gives? Is it new? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Also, if it is new, were punal/gunong ever made this long? I would buy an new piece like this, but not for $400!

Looking forward to your insight.

Steve
