Chinese Tang Jian Commission
Hi all
Some of you might remember the custom Daab with silver fitting that I commissioned a few years ago from Cozun? Anyway, my new project of wanting an authenically made straight Chinese sword, my research led me to a smith making swords in the same style they were made 1500 years ago - albeit with power hammers for a certain part of the smithing. THis guy smelts his steel from iron rich river sand!!! Tamahagane in Japanese I still don't know the equivalent Chinese term - any help appreciated. Here a are a couple of pics that the smith sent me... I hope you enjoy and I will update, if new pics arrive Last edited by Jason Anstey; 11th May 2009 at 06:09 AM. |
