A nice Mandau
Hello Guys. Maybe someone of you have seen this on the swap forum and indeed i have bought it from a high respected and estimated member of this forum and also a great person ! (Freddy, you have to pay me a beer!!! ) I'm very happy with it and i show you because i want to share what, i think, it's a nice item (the wire work and the patination on the handle are simple beautiful!!). It's interesting also the restoration with an electrical wire on the piso raout. Any comment is welcome, thanks

Flavio, you'll get your beer !
And by the way, your pictures are far better than mine. I'll have to invest in a new camera. F. |

I'm always amazed at how beautiful the weave work on some of these mandaus! Its so fine too!
Adni has a mandau with a rattan weave on the scabbard that converges into a circle, like the one on your scabbard. It's mind-boggling how the weavers do it! It's a beautiful and complete mandau, Flavio. |
