sabre M 1869 for cavalry troopers
A sabre M 1869 for cavalry troopers was the description in the auction.
But where from? Austria? Germany? And the manufacturer: Jung (???) Any additional information is welcomed! |

I think this is the Austrian cavalry sabre M 1850 with a blade made by the Austrian gunmaker JUNG. Its name is also to be found on barrels of the cavalry pistol M 1862 and the infantry gun M 1854. The "G" is the controlmark of the officer who proofed and accepted this sabre. The "F.K.40" probably stands for "Feld-Kanonen-Regiment 40".
