Two late 16th century excavated daggers.
The first with straight quillons expending toward the tip
Blade of diamond section with ricasso Urn shaped pommel O.L 32 cm blade 21 cm The second wirh flat rounding quillons Blade with tall median ridge Urn shaped pommel O.L 34 cm blade 24 cm Both with ring guard any comment on it will be welcome |

Well Jean-Luc, i see by the absence of opinions that these two beauties are not interesting for collectors. But don't be sad, just send them over to Portugal .

Very nice pieces, but as I have novice knowledge here, not much to add. Excellent finds, Jean-Luc! These would be classified as main-gauche, correct? Used in two hand fighting with the accompanying rapier? |
