Default I think it's a kindjal

Hello,

need the help from knowledge members. I think it's a kindjal but the blade look a little bit strange to my eyes and I think it's not extremly old but it look also not like a "tourist" dagger. Is someone able to enlighten me? I have only this picture, sorry.

Thank you in advance,
Detlef

THEY STILL MAKE SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN AFGHANASTAN IN VARYING QUALITIES. THEY STILL USE THEM LOCALLY BUT TROOPS DO BRING THEM BACK AS SOUVINEERS. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THEY CALL THEM THERE BUT IT MAY NOT BE KINDJAL AT ANY RATE I DON'T THINK IT IS A RUSSIAN KINDJAL. BUT I COULD BE WRONG

Hello Barry,

thank you very much! I know nothing about kindjals but think that the blades have normally a fuller which this blade don't have so I am unsure and let me ask. On the other hand this dagger don't look like a tourist piece of any sort and the blade seems good worked. I really would like to know more about this piece and hope that someone will be able to tell me more.

Regards,
Detlef
