Its stunningly beautiful.
My first thought was Turkish ottoman, a gift for someone they wished to influence who would appreciate a 'Kindjal'. Could it even be 17thC? Failing that 18th, I'd hope. Santa was very kind to you this year! P.S. Close-ups of the blade would surely only make us even more envious |

I agree with Atlantia. Incredible and beautiful. Is it jade I see and gilt silver?

the hilt is made of jade, and the mounts are thin brass, i guess, sure not gilded silver.
The lower scabbard mount is an old leather, looks to be very old replacement (i guess lower brass mount was missed). Looks like 18th century piece, but kindjals on the Caucasus appeared in use in early 19th c, so i guess this blade is persian influented. When i receive the item i will shot close-ups. |
