Unusual bows in Afghanistan
Hi guys.
In one book I found interesting information about unusual bows in Afghanistan. "Boys and lads, now-a-days, use a bow with two strings which are kept apart by a two -inch prop. They use it to kill birds, shooting small stones from a strip of leather attached to the two strings" (Gray J. A. At the court of Amîr, London, 1895). Apparently, such bows have been used in remote areas of Afghanistan relatively recently (See photo). Does someone have an old photo of an Afghan with such a bow in good quality, or maybe someone has such a bow in the collection? |
