One of my newly acquired pieces is the Gunong in the photos below. I estimate it to be from around the '50 or '60.

Hi Marius:
Nice gunong. I think your age estimate could be right. Maybe a little later--these are still being made, and the brass hilted ones are generally late 20th C. The okir looks like Maranao work. Ian. |
