A cap for ID.
A cap for ID.
May be not the good place to discuss about this cap ,it is a bit border line and I would understand that moderator don’t accept this thread here . So if not I would like to have more information about this cap. It 's look like civil war cap ? Best Cerjak |

Its a Patriarchs Militant cap .... they were an American uniformed off shoot of the Odd Fellows fraternal society which started in the mid 19the C in Manchester, England . It is not military but the PMs wore a uniform and took part in parades and marches alongside Odd Fellows Lodges ...I believe the PMs were first formed in 1885.

Patriarchs militant
Hi Jean-Luc,
Isn't this cap used by a militant of THIS ORDER: ( Scroll down to "21st century" ). ... and you are right, this thread is more adequate for the Miscellania forum; and so we move it. , Last edited by fernando; 10th April 2017 at 12:45 PM. |

Hi Cerjak,
From the little I know of this subject, all I can add to what has been said above, is the IOOF stands for Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The number 51 presumably is the Lodge Number. Lodges usually all had their individual numbers. Stu |
