Lew Waldman Estate Sale
Nine of Lew's clubs will make their market debut and five others return to market at a reduced price on Sunday, March 8. Most of the clubs are African and Zulu, but a Fijian kiakavo dina is also on offer.
Later this month, a number of Lew's spears will go to market together (the better for combined shipping); most are African, but a few from the Philippines are also included. The items may be viewed on the preview page |

Special 'Cut Out the Middleman Sale'
Oops, look like I used up the Estate's free auctions listing quota for March, so what to do? Easy answer, pay the listing fees. Chosen work around answer: offer the items direct, less, of course the 10% sales commission!
If there is something you have been watching and teetering on, hoping it would come down a bit, now is the chance. The 10% discount is on top of some items already recently discounted. Check it out at the Preview Page But remember ... it all heads back to auction on Sunday, April 5 and what starts at auction also finishes at auction. Please also follow the page as fresh items are first presented there. Everything should have been presented by mid summer. |

the sale continues...
There are presently a dozen 'fresh' items on their first eBay pass including several jambiyas, a kaskara, a nice old telek dagger, a Bhutanese dagger with 'hairpin' laminated blade, a Burmese dagger, some African items and also items from the Philippines.
The process of listing the collection is on the home stretch, but it will likely be mid July before everything has been presented. Looking ahead: Expect a sale in June on the website with decent and best-yet discounts for many of the items that have not sold on eBay and for which the problem was most likely the starting price. If unsold they will eventually go back on eBay cheaper, but not with as good of a discount as on this website sale. |

Discount sale now underway
I am currently having another 'Cut Out the Middleman Sale' on the Lew Waldman Collection Sale Webpage and this event runs through Sunday, June 14. Everything previously offered has been marked down by at least 10% and some items have had price cuts of 25%. The next sale event is anticipated for October.
The remainder of Lew's spears are now up at auction along with several African items including a throwing knife and a Batammaliba buckler. There is even a mystery knife (kitchen versus surgical suite). The webpage also now contains a preview image for everything else in the collection that can be sold. A number of kukris and large Philippine working knives are in the queue along with an assortment of keris bits and pieces. |

Starting September 2 - Double Decker Sale
Have you, perhaps, been watching and waiting for the prices on some of the remaining items in the Lew Waldman Collection Estate Sale to come down in price, as there are still some fine items whose main sale problem appears to have been the price. If so, your wait may soon be over. Once the items complete their current listings on a third party sale site on Sept 1st, everything not listed as 'hold' at the link above will have a 15% price reduction applied ... and, buying direct earns a further 10% off the new price. Not quite 25% the way the two stage 'double-decker' math works, but pretty close and definitely the lowest prices yet. The sale will run until September 20, after which the remaining items will return to the third-party sale site.

Brief direct sale event
Most of Lew's collection has now been sold, but some fine items still remain on offer. A brief 'Cut Out the Middleman's 10% Sale' has started and will end when everything returns to the commercial site at about 9 am US EST on Thursday, 7 Jan. Check out what remains over at the Lew Waldman Estate Sale page!

Another cut out the middleman sale!
Just a 'heads up' that another 'cut out the middleman sale' has commenced with fresh lowest-yet price reductions on the remaining items in Lew's collection.
The items may be viewed in the usual place. I understand that a few more items remaining with Lew's family will become available later this Spring, but I have no further details at the present time. |

Phase 2
Lew's arms, armor and related cultures library is now up for sale; you may find a listing on the Estate sale website. These books appear to have been respectfully used and are in very good condition relative to age.
New arms items should begin to appear no later than mid September; most of these will be shorter items. When I picked up the bulk of the collection, there was a cabinet said to contain the knife collection. I pulled out the third drawer, and yes, modern custom knives, so, overwhelmed, I moved on. Wrong. I did not pull out any of the other 8 drawers that contained almost all ethnographic arms. Preview pictures should be up before too much longer. |

Ok, a little more like late September...
The first group of ethnographic arms from the second phase of the Lew Waldman estate sale may now be seen on the preview page and includes a few choice African, Philippine and Indian subcontinent blades. Going forward, there will probably be about a dozen new, fresh to market items added each month.
