Default Nias Balato

Just got this Nias Balato. Great balance. 25" OAL.

I learned an important lesson with unpacking this one. Don't just pull the scabbard out of the bubble wrap. Carefully cut the tape holding the bubble wrap in place and unroll it.

If you pull it out of the bubble wrap, all FIFTEEN of the little metal bands stay in the bubble wrap. Each one is minutely different. It took me almost half an hour to put each little band and the tiny brass side pieces back where they belonged.

Actually I wish that sellers would use rubber bands to hold the bubble wrap in place.
