Dear all,
i friend of mine got an offer for a nice wootz shamshir with a cartouche. As the photos are from the seller, i just cut off the cartouche. Someone can help me with the traduction ? Thanks in advance everybody. And if there is a problem with that post, Don't hesitate to delete it ! Julien |

To me it looks like an Ottoman " kilic adjemi ( Literally " foreign [ persian style] sword"). From the pic the blade looks like having a wide shallow fuller ( I might be imagining it). If so, the blade might be European. I understand that your friend does not have it yet. Etching it might help.
I would suggest waiting for Kwiatek's reading of the cartouches. |

The blade is from wootz, i got another picture.
I tryed to identify the cartouche and someone suggest me : "I put my trust in God". But always better to double check ![]() |
